Not consulting. Not looking. Still very much in the game.
I'm exactly where I want to be at Moran Wealth Management. Outside the day job, I keep a small amount of room for three things, when the fit is right and the people are good.
Advisory
A standing sounding board for founders and leadership teams in wealth and FinTech on positioning, go‑to‑market, and growth. I've run marketing, sales, product, and operations at different points, so I tend to see the whole machine rather than one department.
This is informal by design: a few companies at a time, a call when it's useful, honest feedback when it isn't what you wanted to hear.
Investing
I'm an active investor in businesses I understand, mostly in and around financial services and FinTech. I write checks where I can also be useful, and I'm candid about the size I play at.
If you're building something in this space and want an operator on the cap table, send the deck. If it's not for me, I'll say so quickly and usually point you to someone it is for.
Board seats
Open to board and advisory board roles where an operator's view of marketing, distribution, and growth genuinely moves the needle. I take the fiduciary part seriously; I spend my days inside a firm that lives by it.
I'm selective and I keep the number small, because a board seat is a commitment, not a line on a bio.
Short version: just reach out.
Send a short note with what you're building and what you're looking for. A deck helps; a novel doesn't.
If it's a possible fit, we get on a call. If it isn't, I'll tell you plainly and try to point you somewhere useful.
We agree on what "involved" means. I'd rather do a little, well, than a lot, badly.
Building something worth a look?
One email. I read them all.
